An internal validation was performed using PrepFiler Forensic DNA Extraction Kit. While the kit provided comparable DNA yields to that of the phenol-chloroform method, the manual extraction process was still time consuming. In order to reduce turn around time and prevent a backlog of samples, the epmotion 5075 TMX was purchased to allow us to automate the extraction process.
